Our Services

White Street Advisors is not your ordinary registered investment advisor. We are a fee-only practice and process driven. This means that we only serve one master, you...our client; you provide the only compensation we recieve. Our process centers around you, your life and your objectives. We don't come to the table with preconceived notions of who you are and what you want.We listen, we learn and we inform. You share your material financial documents, objectives, expectations and commitment to the process. Together we produce something meaningful and useful for you.

Financial Planning

Financial planning is the heart and core of how we help; it is a process rather than an event. It involves identifying individual needs and objectives, emotions and fears, dreams and desires. Then there is the reconciliation of the differing opinions and personalities of a family. Adding another layer to the process is that the relationship most of us have with our money is deep, mysterious and secret ... typically more so than anyone will willingly admit.

Central to financial planning is the combination of all of the above with a little math ... savings and debt, investment rates of return, future inflation assumptions, insurance and taxation assessments, education funding for our children, estate and incapacitation planning, suitable allocation of investment dollars, and on and on.

The development of a comprehensive financial plan that puts all your pieces together is key to financial well-being. Like a well rehearsed orchestra, all the instruments need to play together for optimal performance.

It's important to remember that a bucket load of money to invest is not a requirement for a successful financial plan or financial well-being. At White Street, our aim is to make the most of what you have.

The first objective for all of us should be acting now to develop a flexible and purposeful plan to get where you want to go, avoid making financial mistakes, and focusing on the process more than the outcome.

Investment Management

The truth of the matter is that getting started now, spreading your investment dollars among several different asset classes, investing consistently in low cost vehicles through up and down markets, and not listening to the media is your path to a successful investment experience.

At White Street, we always look at your particular situation, comfort level and investment goals to design an investment strategy suitable for your needs and objectives. Once a strategy is defined, individual selections among appropriate asset classes and/or individual stocks or bonds are assembled among your tax deferred accounts, Roth accounts and your taxable accounts to form your portfolio.

We add value by helping keep your emotions in check with objective advice, keeping your expenses low, guiding your investment dollars to appropriate segments of the market and utilizing a little common sense along with science and academic research to back up our recommendations.

Small Business Consulting

As with individuals and families, all businesses are unique with specific opportunities and challenges. White Street will work with owners, principals and employees to design, implement and manage plans and strategies that make sense for the particular situation of the business.

We can assist with small business planning and financing, partnership arrangements, buy-sell agreements, employment benefit plans such as Flexible Savings Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA), group life, health and disability plans, section 125 plans, various qualified retirement plan installation and management, and succession planning.

In some cases, a defined benefit plan (a company sponsored pension plan) can make enormous sense for certain incorporated businesses. Many small businesses operate as sole proprietorships…..does incorporation make sense? How will certain benefit plans be implemented? What are the costs? When do I need to get an accountant or lawyer involved? How will employees react to changes made within the organization? Should I, as an owner, develop now an exit plan ... how and when do I get out?

White Street has experience to help with all of these questions.

White Street can also provide written material and on-site seminars for employees on a variety of topics, such as the process and power of goal setting, the value of financial planning, debt reduction strategies, how to fund college tuition, the importance of estate and incapacitation planning, etc. More and more evidence suggests that financially aware employees have less debt, are more engaged and are more productive on the job ... a distinct and measurable bottom line enhancement.
